Circa 1960 Martin Indiana Bb Trumpet — Original Case & Martin #7 Mouthpiece
A Martin Indiana from around 1960, serial 76906, made in Elkhart, Indiana. It has crisp bell engraving featuring a chieftain head and comes with its original Martin-badged case and original Martin #7 mouthpiece.
The Indiana has an interesting place in Martin's history. The company's 1949 catalog emphasized that these instruments were made by the same craftsmen as its higher-priced trumpets, such as the Martin Committee. In the February 1960 price list, the Indiana Chieftain trumpet was offered in lacquered brass with a case for $147.50.
